Goldie’s Band: By Royal Appointment is a brand new TV show starting on BBC 2 this Saturday which will follow the drum and bass pioneer on a personal mission to discover young people whose talent and passion for music is at the centre of their lives. The chosen band will then perform a special concert at Buckingham Palace with guest of honour Prince Harry.
Tune in to BBC 2 at 9pm UK time this Saturday to catch part one of the three-part series.

Amazing! I’ve just watched the final episode of Goldie’s Band and thought the concert was brilliant. I danced, I sang along, I cried and smiled. The group are so talented, strong and such an inspiration. I hope that they all have a great muscial future after this, they all deserve it. Can’t wait to hear more from them. Helen, Leamington Spa.

Just watched the programme – AMAZING performances! Really felt moved by the innovative and inspiring compositions by the band members, but also the great support from the professional team. I’d really like to buy the tracks – would you guys be able to say if and where I can get them? Just think it’s fantastic music and this kind of initiative for encouraging young people with music is just what our youth needs! Brilliant!

Watched every episode of the band and just wanted to let you and everyone involved know, you’ve restored my faith in Britain’s homegrown talent that’s not driven by money and producing soulless dross. I teach creative media to excluded school kids & understand the importance of engaging young people within the arts.
The band are truly an inspiration not only in their diversity & talent, but also in their positivity. How music has benefitted and shaped their individual lives is an amazing example of the power that music holds.
I look forward to downloading the music.

I was fortunate to be in the UK when the last of the ‘Goldie’s Band’ programmes was screened. What a fabulous achievement! A professional musician myself, I was in tears for nearly the whole concert, listening to the way the powerful stories were expressed through some of the most moving music I have heard. And what talent the artists had! I will now find out more about the history of the band, but I was greatly impressed by the sheer mastery of instruments that are not always the ones associated with that age group. Thank you, Goldie, and all the others, for your inspiring work.
Watched last night, completely blown away with the talent. Please release the concert in full, raise some money, people will buy in massive numbers.

Watched the final episode last night……what can we say?
As two 62 year olds, we absolutely thoroughly enjoyed the band’s performance. Every single one of them was a star in their own right, but togetere they were mind blowingly good. Natalie was something else. All of them are worthy of being signed up as recordable performers either solo or initially together as the band. The final song was so inspirational – I’ve got goose pimles just thinking about it. They should tour schools both for music lessons and also to show some of the very ungrateful students what life is all about – I work in the Pastoral Office in my school, so I know all about it!
Goldie you ARE a genius – you’ve worked magic, but you couldn’t have done it without your fabulous mentors, and above all those incredible youngsters. Well done to you all!
Please – they MUST go on tour. We’ll be the first in the queue!

Maximum respect to you Goldie . . what a great, talented, inspiring group of musicians and singers you have there and what a wonderful series of programmes charting the journey of your band. Thank you, thank you, for showing us that real talent amongst the younger generation still exists and its not all about X Factor. Big respect to the mentors too. Their committment to these youngsters was ever present and real.

The show finale was so beautifully emotional and the music is still ringing in my ears today….is there any possibility that the performance might be downloadable one day as i don”t think i can get enough of it! What these kids did was amazing and the oppurtunity you gave them was beautiful…..
We need more music like this……
I was completely inspired by this program. Not just because of their stories and how music helped them through, but mainly the spirit in the music and the heart that they put in. It made me believe that music isn’t getting completely destroyed by the business. I think it would be amazing if there were more workshops around the country with the band because I think it could help a lot of people and I have always struggled expressing myself except through music but I struggle being genuine in my own songs.
