to goldie, this is the only way i could find to write to you (and i hope you receive this). i’ve just finished watching your band series on bbc2 and i just had to write about what an inspirational programme and group of people you got together, it was spellbinding, emotional,INCREDIBLE. this is what reality tv should be about. for the past two months i’ve been housebound and unable to walk, a very black time yet again in my life, but your band has helped me tonight especially, it has shown the beauty diversity and spirit this country has, good medicine against are political times, i hope more can happen for your band and all performers who took part, thankyou all from one moved and inspired UPLIFTED, julie forshaw xxx

What an amazing and moving talk from Goldie. He’s totally right too … so many young people just need someone to care enough to give them that positive message and bit of support. Goldie has always interested me, since seeing him in a book about graf from the mid-80’s. Big character, big cultural figure. I was driving home from the airport at about 5am on Saturday, listening to the A to Z of Pete Tong. Pete Tong chose Inner City Life by Goldie for the letter ‘G’. I’ve heard that tune so many times over the years, but NEVER has it failed to raise the hairs on my arms. Incredible piece of music by a remarkable man. Big up Goldie … you’ve given me a few things to think about there.

    Craig.
