Goldie has unveiled the full-length version of the video for his latest single ‘I Adore You’, taken from his forthcoming double LP ‘The Journey Man’. The extended cut of the video, which clocks in at just over 9 minutes in length, was directed by Lyle Lindgren and stars acclaimed British TV and film actor Stephen Graham, and follows a complex, dark, and heartfelt narrative.
Goldie and Stephen Graham have been friends for many years, first meeting each other during the filming of the movie ‘Snatch’, in which they both starred. Graham has since gone on to play leading roles in TV series such as Boardwalk Empire, This Is England and Taboo, as well as Hollywood blockbuster movies including Gangs Of New York and Pirates Of The Caribbean.
Of the collaboration with Goldie for this video, Stephen Graham says:
“This shoot was something truly special. It's been an absolute pleasure working with Lyle who I think is an amazingly promising young director, he's crafted a beautifully raw short film that delves into a rarely-seen aspect of the prison system. Even though it deals with dark themes and violence…there’s a tenderness to the story which was important to portray properly. I've known me old mucker Goldie since day so it was fantastic to be able to collaborate on this - there's a personal connection to the themes of the film for all involved. And the album is a fantastic body of work.”
Goldie recently announced his brand new double album, ‘The Journey Man’, will be released on 16th June, via Cooking Vinyl and Goldie’s own record label, Metalheadz. The album comprises two parts, 16 brand new tracks in total, all written and produced by the MOBO Award-winning songwriter, DJ, producer, visual artist and actor Goldie (MBE). It also features a host of collaborators handpicked by Goldie to help realise his vision for the album.
